Compass Legal Marketing is a Miami-based legal marketing agency. We serve as outsourced marketing manager to law firm clients, from boutique to AmLaw 100 firms. Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Copy Editor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in editing and proofreading, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for producing clear, concise, and engaging content. This role will involve working closely with our coordinators and managers, ensuring all materials meet our high standards of quality and reflect the clients’ brand.
This is a remote position, but candidates must be based in the United States and are required to work in-person for company and client meetings at least once per quarter. Some travel is also required.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and proofread a variety of content, including blog posts, articles, website copy, social media posts, announcements, marketing materials, and other communications, ensuring clarity, coherence, and adherence to clients’ various style guides
- Draft content for brochures, presentations, client announcements, ads, and other marketing materials
- Draft email marketing communications
- Draft submissions to listings, directories, and awards
- Produce high-quality social media content through creative campaigns
- Other responsibilities as needed
Requirements/skills
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional editing experience, preferably in a legal, marketing, or agency setting
- Proficiency in AP Style
- Ability to synthesize complex information into a compelling narrative
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative, professional environment
- Ability to meet deadlines with shifting priorities and to work well under pressure
- Ability to manage high volume of tasks
- Fluent in Google Docs, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
