Jamie Cotera advises lawyers on the best strategies to generate business. She has experience creating business development plans for small, mid-sized, and AmLaw 100 firms and has a track record of successful results in increasing business. She also works with lawyers and firms on raising their profiles locally, nationally, and internationally through creative marketing strategies.
Jamie previously worked at Kobre & Kim, an aggressive and conflict-free global litigation firm, where she coached the firm’s lawyers on business development tactics to retain high-value, high-margin matters. She also managed the firm’s awards and rankings submissions process for publications like Chambers and Legal 500. Before that, she led Morgan Lewis’ Latin America Practice business development and marketing efforts. As the director of marketing at Rivero Mestre, Jamie oversaw the team responsible for business development, marketing, recruiting, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
She is a past chair of the Legal Marketing Association’s South Florida group, is on the editorial committee of Strategies—The Journal of Legal Marketing, and has spoken on several legal marketing topics ranging from networking to responding to RFPs.
She earned her master’s degree in international communication from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia and studied journalism and Spanish at the University of Florida.
